Study and Facilitation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
CSR is believed a very important momentum nowadays and increasingly demanded by the companies in conducting their activities synergistically and in harmony with the environment and communities living around the operation area. CSR is not anymore regarded as a cost center but it is a long term investment for the company (sustainable business).
The strategies of EOS Consultants, pt for CSR development of the company are conducted through a comprehensive study and the facilitation of the company’s human resource/personal capacity building starting from the level of top management up to the implementer in the field. Study and facilitation of company’s CSR are carried out through participative approach not only with the stakeholders in the company but also with the communities to identify the problem root and its mitigation, also provide the company assurance to run the business safely, productively, and in harmony within the framework of sustainable business.
Social Studies
A social study that is organized by EOS Consultants, pt can be carried out in stages based on the urgency of the company’s need or be conducted holistically. If it is carried out in stages based on the needs, then it is categorized on the several choices of study, namely: stakeholder mapping, ethnographic study, community’s need assessment, social baseline study; planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community development program, also conflict resolution. In support of the experienced socialists, it can then provide the right solution for the company interacting with the stakeholders.
Training / Workshop
EOS Consultants,pt organizes the training or workshop for the company’s human resource capacity building. The training or workshop is conducted in the subjects of CSR, Community Development (CD), techniques of social data analysis and collection, stakeholder mapping, community’s need assessment, conflict resolution, environmental management, and monitoring, as well as the training/workshop appropriate with the subjects that are required by the company.
Such training/workshop will be able to equip the company’s human resources with the abilities on the aspects of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, also the acuity in analyzing the problem and its mitigation. The training can be organized based on the offered program as well as in-house training.
Laboratory Analysis
- TCLP (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure)
TCLP or Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure is carried out to determine both organic and inorganic analyte mobility in liquid waste, solid waste, and multiphase. It is usually used to determine whether the waste includes in toxic definition based on the category of US-EPA.
The analysis of TCLP simulates the condition of Final Disposal Site (TPA). Over the time, the water and other liquids that are derived from the waste will permeate through Final Disposal Site (TPA). The liquid that permeate often reacts with solid waste and can create a risk of public health and environment due to the contaminant. The analysis of TLCP will determine the identified toxic contaminant (based on Environmental Protection Agency/EPA) in the form of lye and its concentration.
- LC50 (Median Lethal Concentration)
LC50 (Median Lethal Concentration) is a biological toxicity test using test animals to know the concentration, which causes the death of test animals as much as 50%. The observation time is commonly 96 hours and the test animals used refer to US-EPA. Statistical test is performed to know the value of LC-50.
There are two phases in the research, namely: preliminary test (to determine the critical threshold concentration, i.e. the concentration that causes the largest death up to 50% and the smallest death up to 50%) and advanced test (after the critical threshold is identified, then the acute concentration is determined based on the series of concentration logarithm).
