Let’s Think about Sustainability

Everyone everywhere can help create a more sustainable planet. Our planet, a place of refuge and activity, requires maintenance efforts and the active participation of the world community. Such participation includes efforts to understand natural conditions and behave in harmony with nature. That is, by providing opportunities for these natural resources to recover and regenerate, just as we prepare decent sources of livelihood for humanity and future generations.

This discussion about environmental sustainability on planet earth has made many parties, including the international society and other stakeholders aware to participate in behavior that refers to sustainability. This appeal is not just a motto, it further means that the world today will need attention in order to create a more sustainable principal spirit. The spirit of sustainability has become an interest and strong requirement that cannot be delayed and implemented anymore because of the condition of the earth that requires careful attention in order to provide benefits to our children and grandchildren.

This is a call for transformative changes for those individuals’ choices to be taking care more of the world’s developments where our earth shall have extra attention so that the sustainability of the process and production is supposed to be well maintained.

The concept of sustainability itself still needs to be translated into daily activities slowly. Perhaps the conceptual creator of sustainability believes that the implementation of the sustainability process itself requires time and stages and its implementation is understandable by many parties. On the one hand, the theory of sustainability contains a vision of securing natural resources and will be a source of goodness for many stakeholders. On the other hand, the source of goodness for generations needs to receive technical and moral assistance in order the implementation can be reflected smoothly and properly.

Attention to development in various places the elements of sustainability as the main ingredient towards sustainable development. Sustainability is a form of our responsibility in developing and processing natural resources in an orderly, planned manner and placing everything with careful consideration.

Sustainability is a creation and embodying of our earth’s ability to have a better carrying capacity in facing the rate of development. The earth itself should be visibly becoming cleaner, greener, and a place for sustainable living in harmony with nature.

A harmonious life in sustainability is operationalized through social, environmental, and economic governance as well as policies that interact fairly and equitably. There is no development that is only working for the sake of and in the name of profit. There needs to be a balance of benefits where social, economic and environmental elements reinforce each other and maintain a balance of interests of these elements.

It will focus on the possibilities for shifting to a greener lifestyle through individual choices
Our individual decisions shape how our societies impact the environment.

Climate change, for example, that is happening today is thought to be a global impact and human behavior that continuously consumes natural resources. The increasing human population is not balanced with the availability of natural resources.

The availability of the sources of life has not been fully supported by human efforts to restore the resources that have been utilized. In the name of livelihood, humans tend to continue to use natural resources and fewer efforts to restore them.

In some cases in Indonesia, it is necessary to make efforts to restore natural resources as a whole and work for hand in hand with relevant agencies so that natural resources management balance can be developed and achieved,

The imbalance between supply and demand for products that support human life causes a natural resource crisis.

The current food crisis, apart from climate change, is also caused by humans consuming too many natural resources and not considering overexploitation. Increased consumption of natural resources, including the smaller location = location for growth and development of renewable resources. All of them are pressed by the human need for shelter and other activities.

Unlimited consumption has resulted in a natural resource crisis which can be indicated by various natural “warnings” of the dangers of global warming.
As well as making our personal lives more sustainable, as individuals, we can support faster and more far-reaching environmental change through:

  1. Campaign for cleaner, greener, and sustainable living in harmony with nature.
  2. Spread knowledge with friends, family, and your community including on social media.
  3. Get involved in sustainability and restores nature including by campaigning for systemic change
  4. Conserving energy by changing your habits can also make a big difference. Turn off lights and electronics when not in use, and use appliances with high energy-efficiency ratings in your home to reduce emissions.
  5. Beyond buying. Think about what you really need before buying. Choose items that are made to last and that can then be recycled or repurposed.
  6. Choose natural products that support ecosystems and local communities.
  7. Keep active. Do more walking or cycling to cut vehicle pollution and road congestion while getting some fresh air and boosting your fitness.
  8. learn how to heal nature around you.
  9. Grow your own food to reduce the transport, packaging, and waste of food.
  10. Ditch disposables by refusing everyday products that cannot be reused, such as plastic cups and cutlery, plastic and paper bags, batteries, and sanitary products.
Let’s take care of our Earth for a better living…
