The Zooxanthellae FDC expedition is a routine FDC activity every 2 years aimed at mapping the conditions and potentials of coastal ecosystems, especially coral reef ecosystems throughout Indonesia. Through the partnership and cooperation that has existed between EOS-C and FDC-IPB so far, EOS routinely gets the opportunity to be involved, both as a sponsor and as a participant.
The scope of the expedition is:
Data collection on the condition of the physical chemistry components of the liquid (specifically the parameters of the insitu waters
Inventory of data on biological components (coral reefs, reef fish and consumption, and macrobenthos)
Data collection on the socio-economic and cultural conditions of the local coastal community (specifically capture fisheries; fishermen, capture fleets, fishing gear, catching areas, volume and yields, as well as facilities and infrastructure of capture fisheries)
The expedition site is located on Sabu Island, Savu Sea. Enter Sabu Raijua Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. There are two working areas around the expedition site, namely:
